Welcome to the Wakeland Family Website

Website is dedicated to all things Wakeland.

Richard and Lorraine have been happily married since March, 2003. Richard and Lorraine live in a quiet suburb of Houston and currently don’t have any children. However they both have many nieces and nephews, enough to keep their weekends pretty busy. They are in the process of adopting an infant from a Christian based adoption agency in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

The Early Years

The Early Year pictures are of both Lorraine and Richard and they were compiled back at the time of their wedding. Their wedding reception was a little high-tech on low budget. The slide show was accompanied with a classic musical selection created by both Lorraine and Richard just for the occasion.

Adoption Process

After being married for several years the time came in our marriage when we focused on wanting to start a family. Many months later, we came to find out we couldn’t have them the traditional way. We prayed for many more months when God presented us with agency in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

First Baptist Webster

Lorraine has been a member of First Baptist Church of Webster, Texas for over twenty years. Richard was baptized and joined the church in 2000. They were married under a lovely white gazebo in Walnut Park, which is walking distance from the church.

Adoption Status

The latest news about the status of our adoption.

Our Home-study has been completed. It will be sent to the adoption agency this week. We will also turn in our Lifebook this week. Once everything is turned in we will be waiting for a birthmother to choose us.
